M-13 Star cluster. The oldest thing anyone will ever look at. As old as the universe itself.
A small cold front came through the area here in Louisville, Ky. Cleared the sky some.
This is part of my on going Urban Astronomy Photography from a very light polluted city environment.
Made up of a number of images layered to give a total of a 24 minute exposure. Mead 200mm, f/10, 25 year old optical tube. Sony DSLR Camera. 14bit camera. No guiding info or mount info at this time. Other then to say I write all my own software for mount control, guiding control and sub-image staking. Lightroom to finalize image for show and posting.
This image was made up from only RGB sub-images. Raw is just way to cumbersome to work with and not needed with the new modern DRO cameras. To much overhead with software to work in RAW. Let the camera do the work.
I have many other layers that where taken the night this was that contain better color info that I will add to this image in time. What I wanted in this image was to build up depth in the core and show as much detail as I could from a Urban Sight.
I am please with this under the circumstances this image was taken in. And the scope it was taken with. And the mount used and the guiding etc.
